I’m Sharon, a British fine artist based in Ascot creating original paintings and fine art prints inspired by nature, light, and emotional connection.

My path to becoming a full-time artist in midlife has been anything but linear but that’s exactly what makes it so meaningful. From early childhood, I explored creativity through drawing, painting, and later photography. I worked as a photographer’s assistant, where I also learned to hand-manipulate colour prints—skills that still influence my visual style today. I later trained as a special effects makeup artist, working with musicians and celebrities on album covers and editorial shoots featured in the national press.

After becoming a mum and devoting myself to family life, art remained an intrinsic part of who I am. Eventually, I took small steps back toward creativity. Enrolling in classes at Richmond College and later training with a seascape artist in his Bournemouth studio, I learned to paint in oils using the techniques of the old masters.

Over the last three years, as I’ve gained confidence and my work has found an audience, painting full-time has become a dream come true. I was awarded highly commended at the Windsor Castle En Plein Air event, exhibited throughout the UK and internationally, co-authored two #1 international bestselling books on creativity and mindset transformation, and was invited to exhibit my paintings at the Mangusta Yacht Launch in London. My work is also represented by selected galleries.

I am delighted to have been featured in several publications, including Artist & Illustrator Magazine, Canvas Rebel, and Bold Journey. In 2024, I was named one of Premier Magazine UK - “Women to Watch,” and this year I’ve been interviewed on Brooklands Radio’s Just Women show, speaking about art and reinvention after 50. I have since been invited to become a co-presenter on this bi-weekly radio show.
