There comes a moment when we realise we cannot change, fix or save someone we love. Sometimes, the only thing left to do is let go.
Surrendered Love explores that moment — not as defeat, but as an act of strength. I wanted the sea to reflect that shift from resistance towards acceptance, moving between turbulence and calm, and the freedom that can come when we stop trying to control what we cannot change.
As with all my paintings, I wrote hidden words directly onto the canvas before building up layers of oil paint. They remain beneath the surface, unseen but still part of the story.
For me, this painting is about love, letting go and finding freedom.
